22–25 September 2019 | Münster | Germany

Past, Present, Future

Dear Colleagues,

The joint Annual Conference of the Deutsche Geologische Gesellschaft – Geologische Vereinigung (DGGV – The German Geological Society) and the Deutsche Mineralogische Gesellschaft (DMG – The German Mineralogical Society) will be held 22–25 September 2019 at the University of Münster in Germany.

The organising and scientific committees have identified 16 broad themes for the GeoMünster 2019 “Earth! Past, present, Future” meeting, aiming at providing a multidisciplinary discussion on recent results of exciting topics of the Earth, Planetary and Material Sciences.

We are now inviting the DGGV and DMG communities and all other interested parties to submit suggestions for sessions. In suggesting a session, you are requested

1) to provide a title and short description of the session topic (max. 10 lines),

2) to select the appropriate theme for this session, and

3) to suggest two session organisers.

4) Please also remember that you can nominate a keynote speaker for the proposed session. Especially in case you intend to invite Non-German keynote speakers* it would be good to include the information now as we can take it into consideration for the DFG travel funding application.

Deadline for submission: Thursday January 10, 2019 (20:00, GMT+1)

Session proposals will be selected by the Scientific Committee on the basis of their scientific interest, novelty, and quality, as well as their potential to attract a large spectrum of abstracts and generate multidisciplinary discussion. After acceptance by the scientific committee, session organisers will receive information regarding the next steps for organising their session.

The list of accepted sessions is expected to be finalised by mid-January 2019 and the official version will be published on the GeoMünster website. This will be followed by the call for abstracts.

Looking forward to seeing you at GeoMünster 2019!

Yours sincerely,

Heinrich Bahlburg

on behalf of the organising and scientific committees

*unfortunately there is no funding for German keynote speakers
